Welcome!

We are making the "Great Loop" - up the east coast, through the Great Lakes and into Canada, and then down the Mississippi and around Florida. It promises to be the adventure of a lifetime! We invite you to join us through our blog.

On to Myrtle Beach

Yesterday was a quiet day. I baked some more bread - feta and basil - and finished the hat I was knitting for Michael Jimenez, my nephew. A loaf of sandwich bread from a new recipe had not turned out well and was hard as a rock. Ryder swiped it from the table while we were busy on the flybridge. (She only climbs when she wants to.) The new loaf is much better!

Last night, a local Italian restaurant sent a car for us for dinner. We had a great meal and got to do a little grocery shopping as well. This morning we shoved off and headed up the waterway to North Myrtle Beach. We saw some interesting things along the way...

Tomorrow we will head on up to Southport, NC.

Feta-basil bread and spice cake.

Michael's cap.

There were lots of turtles that came to check us out.

The entrance to Osprey Marina.

Back on the waterway.

The bread thief.

This is the first bridge that had to open for us.

These cars crossed the waterway.

Note the golf bags.

  1. Steve and Beth....sounds like an adventure. I came thru that area when we brought the first Bertram down from Boston. I particularly liked the cruise thru NC and South Port to Norfolk and up the Chesp to, Annapolis, etc... I forget the order of things, but neat stuff.....Richard hookup8415@att.net

  2. You will love Southport! It is such a lovely, quaint little town. We go there often while we are at Holden Beach to catch the ferry over to the aquarium at Fort Fisher.
