Welcome!

We are making the "Great Loop" - up the east coast, through the Great Lakes and into Canada, and then down the Mississippi and around Florida. It promises to be the adventure of a lifetime! We invite you to join us through our blog.

The countdown has started!

There's lots going on around here! New electronics are being installed, the bottom is getting a fresh paint job, the boat will be waxed, new freezer and TV to be installed. We have almost all of our charts and Steve has done most of the paperwork. I have a few sewing projects for the boat to finish.

Since we use our boat a good bit, we already have some household goods and appliances on board. We are spoiled about other things, though, because it's easy to walk to the house from the dock or just live without something for a day or two. I'm making a list of all the things we need to take. It gets longer all the time - which brings up another issue: finding a place to store what we choose to take.

Our plan now is to leave around the end of March, date yet to be determined. We will come back to Savannah every 3 or 4 months, although our first visit home will be for Olivia's birthday (May 28) and Chris' graduation from SCAD (first week of June).

I will post some photos of the new and improved Gemini as soon as it's cleaned up a bit.
