Welcome!

We are making the "Great Loop" - up the east coast, through the Great Lakes and into Canada, and then down the Mississippi and around Florida. It promises to be the adventure of a lifetime! We invite you to join us through our blog.

Do you know what today is?

Today is the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War. We just happened to pass by Ft. Sumter just before they shot cannons to commemorate the day. I tried to get Ryder to pose with the fort in the background, but she refused.

We ended up having dinner with Sherrie and her family at a Japanese restaurant last night. Christopher and Stephanie said that Rico and Lauren had worked very hard to get their homework finished so they could come too. Lauren had been to the doctor to get her cast re-done, so they worked fast! I thought I had the SD card issue worked out by putting in a new SD card. Turns out it was the wrong kind of SD card, so the photo we took last night was on the camera itself. Of course I left the cord at home, so I can't get to the photo until my kids send the cord to me. We'll post it later, Abbotts!

There are some nice photos of leaving Charleston ahead of some bad weather. The pictures really don't do it justice - it was beautiful. We are now at Isle of Palms. Not sure yet whether we will leave tomorrow or the next day. It's good to be retired!
