Myrtle Beach to Southport NC

We left Myrtle Beach this morning headed for Southport, NC. After being in brackish water for a couple of days, it was nice to see the waterway turn back into salt marsh. We passed to the land side of Holden Beach, Karen. It was much bigger than I thought and was covered with nice big houses!

Southport is a wonderful town! The downtown area is full of little shops and restaurants, and lots of old homes. We walked all over it today with Ryder. She was very popular - everybody wanted to stop and talk to her. All three of us were pooped by the time we got back to the boat.

Dinner was already in the crock pot, so we all had a short nap and then skyped with Sara and Olivia. That little girl will be walking any minute! She has a toy that she pushes along to practice walking. I am so thankful for Skype, because it lets us visit with her most days.

Leaving Myrtle Beach

This was a tricky entrance to the marina in MB

A mermaid/bowsprit.

These folks were rowing really fast!

There were lots of fishermen on the water today.

Back in salt water!

A pet peeve of ours - throwing a big wake near docks.

It looked like these boats were floating over the trees.

More fishermen.

The ocean on the other side of the sand bar.
