July 4 - Brewerton

Hi everyone!  We celebrated the 4th on the 3rd... that's when Brewerton had their fireworks. Bob and Jane from Sea Flat came over and had dinner with us, then we went up top to watch. The bugs drove us back in until the fireworks actually started. I stayed inside the boat with Ryder (fireworks freak her out) and watched through the window.

Yesterday (the 4th) was pretty quiet. The only real event was that Rebecca arrived. The marina owner took Steve to the airport in Syracuse, a short drive away, and they brought her back. We walked across the bridge to a restaurant for dinner and watched kids jump off a railroad bridge into the water. I picked some more wildflowers along the way. The patches of orange lilies that I have been seeing along the canal are not tiger lilies, they are day lilies.

Today we will continue on and turn onto the Oswego Canal. Rebecca will get her first experience with locks. Should be fun.
