Welcome!

We are making the "Great Loop" - up the east coast, through the Great Lakes and into Canada, and then down the Mississippi and around Florida. It promises to be the adventure of a lifetime! We invite you to join us through our blog.

More of Atlantic City

The Pirates movie was AWESOME! It was an IMAX theater and was in 3D. It was late, though, so I think Steve nodded off a time or two.

We took a cab and got to the Tropicana early, which gave us a chance to walk on the boardwalk. It was pretty amazing - some very unusual sights. The weather kept us in Atlantic City until today - and we maybe should have stayed another day...but I'll tell you about that on the next installment. We spent yesterday doing laundry and I did lots of knitting - Temperance's hat is done!

This is Trump Marina - although it is changing to The Golden Nugget.

Steve and the Captain

This was a restaurant/mall area at the Tropicana - it's inside.

There were lots of these pushcart taxis on the boardwalk.

There actually is a beach on the other side of the boardwalk.

This is where they had the Miss America pageant for years.

A tribute to all the workers who died while building all this.

The Muses - a fountain on the putt-putt course

This was in the Tropicana - pretty cool.

Leaving Atlantic City

The Coast Guard Station at Atlantic City

We missed all of this coming in - it was too foggy to see it.

It's not often you see a light house against high rise hotels.

Good to see some wind power being captured.

And this is what it looked like when we left this morning...
