Welcome!

We are making the "Great Loop" - up the east coast, through the Great Lakes and into Canada, and then down the Mississippi and around Florida. It promises to be the adventure of a lifetime! We invite you to join us through our blog.

Little Shark River to Marathon

We left Marco Island on Wednesday afternoon, intending to go a short distance and anchor. The weather and conditions were so good, that we decided to go on to Little Shark River. We saw an awesome sunset, which I got photos of; and then beautiful stars, which I can't photograph. It was fairly easy to find a spot and anchor in the dark, along with about 5 other boats. In the morning, the sunrise over the mangroves was gorgeous! It was a peaceful and beautiful spot.

We left Thursday morning and had another great cruising day - smooth seas and light breeze. Once again we had dolphins cruise along with us. I never get tired of watching them riding the bow. We got to the Marathon Yacht Club in time for my daily nap and then had a nice dinner at the Yacht Club. This is a great place, with good facilities and some fun activities planned over the next week. They are having a big Superbowl party on Sunday that we plan to attend. There is lots to do here in the Keys, so we'll keep you posted.
