While the boys caught up, Jocelyn and I got acquainted. She is a veternarian with Save the Chimps. They saved the remaining chimps from the space program and all their offspring. Some of the chimps are almost 60 years old. They now live in family groups on about 200 acres near Ft. Pierce. What a cool job! We hope that Tris and Jocelyn will visit us in Savannah!
We didn't get around town too much, except for grocery shopping and getting Ryder groomed. We also had laundry to do. Never ends does it? Another highlight for Ft. Pierce was sighting our third manatee. The water was dark and cloudy, but I got a good photo or two. There were several people along the dock who were excited about seeing it too!
We traveled to Ft. Pierce on a cloudy day. |
This cruise was through some wildlife areas. |
The spoils from dredging have created little islands. |

This was cool - classical statues |
But some people prefer modern art |
